Our Robotic Skills

programming robotic arms

With advancements in technology, robotics has become an integral part of many industries, including manufacturing.

Programming robotic arms plays a vital role in ensuring that the manufacturing process runs seamlessly.

Robotic training helps operators to learn the necessary skills to utilize the robots effectively while maintaining safety protocols.

Robotic cell design requires careful consideration of the production process, including the size and shape of the products and materials needed, to ensure that the cell operates efficiently. Additionally, robotic simulation helps to identify any potential errors or bottlenecks in the system before implementation, saving time and resources.

At our company, we pride ourselves on our expertise in all aspects of robotics and take a deep dive into the specific needs of our clients, enabling us to offer tailored solutions that meet their exact requirements.

Programming Robotic Arms

programming robotic arms

When programming robotic arms, robot operators use software commands or instructions that allow the robot arm to perform certain tasks. Moreover, robot programming is a well-organized structure that includes the use of pushbuttons to indicate when to start or stop the operation. However, the operator needs to consider each of these elements carefully when programming robotic arms. Please bear in mind that robotic software varies according to the robot manufacturer.

At this stage, operators need to consider the safety cell components. Mainly, the robot is a set of robust mechanical devices capable of causing serious injuries to the operator.

Steps for Offline Robotic Programming Arms

Here below is a breakdown of the steps that take place for the robot programming aspect:

  • We build a complete robot cell simulation using the CAD data from the project (Fixturing CAD models, End Of Arm Tooling CAD models, Peripheral equipment CAD Models, and Guarding and Safety Devices).
  • Define the TCPs (Tool Centre Points) for each element of the End Of Arm Tooling
  • We define the fixturing and cell coordinate systems (Work Objects ABB, User Frames FANUC, Base Coordinates KUKA).
  • We program the key movement positions via the simulation.
  • Define the virtual IO.
  • Create the offline program structure in some form of text editor, for example, Notepad++
  • Import the programs into the simulation software.
  • Test the robot cycles.
  • We will send the robot programs and setup files to the customers after testing.
  • The customer imports the robot programs and setup files into the robot onsite.

Why should you provide robotic training to your staff?

Robotic training improves staff efficiency and productivity, increases job satisfaction, and future-proofs the workforce. Moreover, this investment in professional development boosts morale, retention rates, and keeps employees relevant and adaptable in the face of technological advancements, giving companies a competitive edge.

Therefore, robotic training is essential in new installations and contributes to faster and more effective start-ups. However, robot operators should be updated with the latest robotic training, according to new robot manufacturer specifications. For example, ABB Training, KUKA Training, and Fanuc Robot Training may vary between robot brands and continuously improve robot performance. Click here to learn more about robotic applications.

Robotic Cell Design

When it comes to designing a cell layout, it’s important to consider the specific needs and requirements of your facility. consequently, Depending on the nature of your production processes and the products you’re producing, different cell layouts may be more suitable than others. For example, a U-shaped layout may be ideal for facilities with high product variety and low volume, as it enables a flexible workflow with short distances between workstations.

On the other hand, a straight-line layout may be more appropriate for high-volume, low-variety production where efficiency is key. Additionally, the size and shape of your facility, as well as the types of equipment and machinery you have, can also impact the type of cell layout that would work best. Ultimately, careful analysis and planning are necessary to determine the optimal cell layout for your unique needs.

Robotic Cell Design - Safety Components

When designing a robotic cell, it is essential to consider the safety components that can prevent accidents that lead to injuries or equipment damage. Some of these components include emergency stop buttons, light curtains, perimeter fencing, safety mats, and interlock switches. Each safety measure plays a vital role in maintaining and improving the robotic cell’s safety. Therefore, it is also crucial to ensure that all safety components are in excellent working condition and regularly maintained to ensure they work as intended during an emergency.

In conclusion, taking safety seriously when designing a robotic cell and following applicable safety guidelines and regulations is crucial. Phoenix can help you choose the best robotic cell layout and safety components that meet your requirements. Moreover, our experts can provide assistance in the selection process if you are confused.

Robotic Simulation

Offline Robotic Packages

Using our robotic simulation packages, robotic movements can be programmed and monitored offline, without the need for the robots to be physically active. This allows the robots to be tested for accuracy and efficiency in a virtual environment before being deployed in physical settings.

Offline robotic packages are increasingly popular in industrial manufacturing, particularly for tasks such as welding, cutting, painting, and assembly. Their use reduces downtime, increases production efficiency, and enhances worker safety by removing them from hazardous work environments. Offline robotic packages can also be used for training purposes, enabling workers to learn how to operate and program robots in a secure and controlled environment. As a result, workers and machines no longer have to be exposed to hazards, which makes workplaces safer.

Phoenix provides robotic simulation and offline robot programming to support our customers in the best way possible. As a result, we have added a new service to our portfolio and we are conducting multiple site commissioning and programming tasks remotely.
